Journalists of NTV even came to Baku and met with the maker of this super popular video Hilal Mamedov. However, only REN TV and Kavkazkiy Uzel told about the arrest, about serious charges against Hilal Mamedov in the result of the popularity of his video clip.

 

Hilal Mamedov is not only the chief editor of the newspaper “Voise of Tolish” (“Tolish Sado”). Hilal Mamedov is human right defender, the chief of the Committee of rehabilitation of the professor linguist Novruzali Mamedov, who was accused in 2007 in betrayal of Motherland and espionage in favor of Iran. Today Hilal Mamedov is accused in betrayal of Motherland and espionage in favor of Iran.

 

Novruzali Mamedov died in the result of tortures while being in prison. Two sons of Novruzali Mamedov Kamran and Emil were also killed: Kamran was beaten to death in September 2007, and Emil died in 2011 in the result of intentionally organized car accident. Novruzali Mamedov's widow Maryam xanum remembers the last meeting with her husband: “He knew that he was going to die soon”.

 

On March 29 2013 Institute for Peace and Democracy gave the award of IPD on the behalf of Isahan Ashurov to the prisoner of conscience Hilal Mamedov  .

 

Hilal Mamedov continues to fight for law and rights while being in prison as well. His mails from prison are full of bravery and determination to stand against criminal regime, that demolishes the citizens of the country fully with families.

 

More than 10 millions watched video of Hilal Mamedov on youtube. Dozens in Moscow, Kishinev, Berlin,Baku participates in pickets demanding his freedom.
